Job announcement: Professor of Aerosol Chemistry at ETH Zurich

The Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zurich and the Paul Scherrer Institute invite applications for a joint professorship in Aerosol Chemistry. The new professor will act as Head of the Laboratory of Atmospheric Chemistry at PSI.
The successful candidate, an internationally renowned expert in the field of aerosol chemistry, will head the Laboratory of Atmospheric Chemistry and will further advance the laboratory’s expertise in the investigation of atmospheric aerosol chemical and physical processes. Using the unique research infrastructures at PSI and the academic vibrancy of the Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH, the new professor will carry out interdisciplinary research and become involved in national and international collaborations.
In her or his research, the successful candidate applies advanced analytical or modelling methods with strong links to observations and laboratory experiments. She or he addresses air quality issues and their influence on health (potentially including epidemiological or toxicological approaches) and/or climate impacts including the identification of key sources, processes and sinks. The position will be filled at the full professor level. Teaching duties will include both undergraduate and graduate level courses in atmospheric chemistry. In general, at ETH Zurich undergraduate level courses are taught in German or English and graduate level courses are taught in English.
