2-year postdoc at the Department of Environmental Science at the Aarhus University, Denmark

The Department of Environmental Science at Aarhus University (AU-ENVS), Roskilde Denmark, invites applications for a 2-year position as postdoc in aerosol properties and Aerosol Cloud Interaction (ACI). The position is to be filled by January 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is subject to negotiation.

This position is part of the project Clouds and climate transitioning to post-fossil aerosol regime (CleanCloud) funded under the Horizon Europe framework. The aim of the project is to enhance knowledge of aerosol properties and ACI.

The postdoc position will focus on a field campaign at Villum Research Station, Station Nord in Northeast Greenland, where key properties of ACI will be studied using complex in-situ instrumentation. The vertical profiles of aerosol properties will be a subject of the study as well and the campaign will benefit from the availability of long time series of e.g. aerosol optical and physico-chemical parameters.

Profile of the candidate

• Ph.D. in atmospheric physics, chemistry or environmental science, or other disciplines with relevant specialization.
• Experience in operation of advanced instrumentation for particle characterization.
• Experience with data interpretation of measurement results using python and matlab or similar.
• Experience of using back trajectory analysis using different techniques.
• English fluency
