eLTER Cyberinfrastructure Update: AAI development

The development of the eLTER Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI) is progressing steadily. The AAI is a secure digital framework that enables users to log in with the trusted credentials of their home institution to access eLTER cyberinfrastructure components, such as the eLTER Digital Asset Registry (DAR) and all future eLTER Services. 

The eLTER AAI facilitates role-based identity management and automated, traceable workflows for granting specific permissions. Alongside integration with the eLTER CI components, the eLTER CI Development Team is working to interconnect with other AAI infrastructures, including the upcoming ENVRI ID and IRISCC AAI.

The first users now engaging with the new features are the data providers participating in the ongoing eLTER Data Mobilisation. This group is helping to test and validate the system in real-world conditions, ensuring that the infrastructure meets the needs of its core community. Stay tuned until its official launch while we work to make eLTER's CI 'backbone' as robust and user-friendly as possible!
